lentilasanything

Lentil as Anything

Lentil as Anything has become synonymous with the Abbotsford Convent. It is a unique non profit organisation that assists people who may be disadvantaged or marginalized. We offer healthy and delicious vegetarian and vegan cuisine and can offer gluten free options if required. Let uis know if any team members have any special dietary requirements. Live music, world music, films, and artworks are often performed and displayed at the restaurant. Food is sourced from local organic food suppliers, prepared on site and often served buffet style allowing you to choose your own meal. Inspired Teams suggest a price that your team can pay per head, but the unique "pay as you feel" philosophy at Lentil allows you to pay separately if you wish.

The Convent Bakery

Nestled within the walls of the Convent Annexe or Kitchen Wing are two magnificent masonry wood fired ovens built in 1901.The Convent Annexe served as a central place for the preparation and baking of all food once served at the Convent by the Sisters of Good Shepherd. It is within these same walls that the Convent Bakery and its Artisan Bakers produces on a daily basis a fresh and unique style of old fashioned wood fired bread using ancient techniques of hand moulding which results in bread loaves that are different from one another and a little bit imperfectly formed.

The Convent Bakery can meet your catering requirement from scrumptious morning & afternoon tea with organic fair trade tea & coffee, to delicious fresh lunch including baguettes, sandwiches or croissants. We cater for vegetarians.

kappaya

Kappaya

Japanese Soul Food. The key words to describe the newest addition to the Convent's kitchen annex are 'organic simplicity'. Proprietor, Kaji and Chef, Yoshi combine a background of art and food and the result is careful, delicate and precise cuisine seved in an altelier interior that is the perfect foil to its near neighbours.

houseofrefreshment

Handsome Steve's House of Refreshment

Your team's Convent experience is not complete until you venture upstairs to Handsome Steve's House of Refreshment. You won't find eggs, 'cooked to your liking', skinny lattes, wraps, low fat muffins or light beer. It's S for Salt, F for Fat, S for Sugar, C for Caffeine and A for Alcohol. Now these foundation stones come in different shapes and sizes and may have never met, but they'll make you'll feel a lot happier than having a yo-yo biscuit for a friend.
The authorities like to call it a Licensed Cafe and in a sense they're right. But it's more about leaving your world behind and stepping into Handsome Steve's parallel world. Don't worry I'll get you back. How much time you spend there is up to you but at least you know where the escape hatch is and who's got the key to the medicine cabinet.
Same again then Pet?

boilerroom

The Boiler Room Bar

The Boiler Room adjacent to the bakery was used by the nuns to keep warm during the winter months and is now used to stay cool by serving wines and award winning beers from Australian micro breweries. You can finish your perfect day at the Convent with a beer, wine, bubbly or soft drink with scrumptious canapes.
